Versi-Foam

Versi-Foam is very high quality high density polyurethane foam. Versi-foam insulation kits are the easiest, most dependable solution to instant, money-saving residential and commercial insulation projects. They have a relatively high insulation value compared to many other insulation products and are easy and quick to apply in awkward locations and on irregular surfaces.

Bellis Australia is the official distributor of Versi-Foam in Australia. Versi-Foam is one of the best selling products of Bellis Australia.

Versi-Foam Systems come in three standard Sizes.

  1. System 10 is a handheld (dispensing gun) ideal for easy repair projects.
  2. System 15 is a portable tank that can be carried by one hand while the other hand spreads the foam.
  3. System 50 comes in two portable boxes and is the most economical.

Bellis sells both open and closed cell polyurethane foam systems.

Applications

Versi-Foam spray insulation has a wide range of applications across a variety of industries.  Some of these include:

  • Commercial & Industrial applications
  • Air sealing
  • Condensation Control
  • Sound Deadening
  • Structural Enhancement
  • Tank & Pipe Insulation
  • Roof Repair
  • Marine floatation & Gas tank encapsulation
  • Truck & Trailer Insulation
  • Sculpting and molding medium
  • Pool & Spa Insulation

Open Cell Systems

Versi-Foam open cell spray foam has a density of 0.75 pounds per cubic foot (12kg/m3). This foam will expand more than the closed cell formula and is tack free in approximately 2 minutes. The formulation is 92% open cell. All of our open cell products are produced in the Flame Retardant formula.

Closed Cell Systems

Versi-Foam closed cell spray foam insulation is highly dense and expansive insulating foam that has been used for years in all sizes of insulation projects. Our closed cell spray foam formula has a density of 1.75 pounds per cubic foot (28kg/m3) free rise or 2 pounds per cubic foot (32kg/m3)in place. The spray foam will expand six times its original liquid volume and is tack free in approximately 30 to 45 seconds. The formulation is 97% closed cell. Versi-Foam insulation foam spray is available in standard and flame retardant formulas to meet all of your insulation project needs.

Application Instructions

  • Turn the tank valves to the on position
  • Click one of the nozzles into place on the foam tank.
  • Disengage the safety, when ready.
  • Point the dispensing gun at your spray foam target.
  • Pull back on the handle and dispense the foam insulation.

Operation

Look at the liquid crystal temperature strip (on top of the white tank). Look to see which square is indicated. If the blue square is indicated – the chemical is too cold. Warm the kit prior to use. If the red square is indicated – the chemical is too warm. Cool the kit prior to use. If the green square is indicated – the kit is at proper temperature and ready to use.

Foam Set Up Times and Temperature

Versi- Foam sets up (tack free or dry to the touch) in less than one minute in temperatures between 70°F and 80°F (21°C – 27 °C). Higher temperatures will result in faster setup times.

If dispensing is interrupted for 30 seconds or more, the nozzle must be removed and changed prior to the next shot and also apply petroleum jelly.

If the blue square is indicated, the chemicals are too cold for proper use. Dispensing when the chemicals are too cold will result in foam that is darker in color and will have a crunchy surface. Place the tanks in a warmer area until the liquid crystal temperature strip indicates the green square and the chemicals are at the proper temperature for use.

If the red square is indicated, the chemicals are too warm for proper use. Dispensing at this temperature will result in foam that is lighter in color and has a soft and spongy surface. Place the tanks in a cooler area until the liquid crystal temperature strip indicates the green square and the chemicals are at the proper temperature for use. Also check the outside temperatures. Always monitor the liquid crystal temperature strip to ensure the chemicals are at the proper temperature.

Safety Precautions

  1. Operator should always wear safety goggles and gloves
  2. Use only with adequate ventilation and respiratory protection
  3. Smoking must not be allowed during application. Open flame and/or the use the use of welding or electrical equipment in the vicinity of the application should also be prohibited
  4. Do not store in temperatures above 100°F (38°C).Do not store in direct sun, near hot water pipes, furnaces, chimneys or heat ducts.
  5. Keep out of reach of children

Warnings

Individuals with chronic respiratory diseases, asthma or bronchial disorders should not work with these materials, nor should those with allergic diseases. Do not use this urethane foam where it will come in contact with steam pipes, heat vents or areas where surface temperature might exceed 250°F (121°C). No flame cutting or hot work should be conducted nearby.
