Foster 40-80 is used to disinfect or sanitize all of the major ducting equipment materials, and can also be used on ceilings and pipe work. Foster 40-20 can be used on both interior and exterior HVAC duct systems, along with pipe work, walls and ceilings. It will prevent the growth of bacteria and moulds on any surface it is applied to, along with water resistance. If fibreglass or galvanised surfaces are used, Foster 40-30 is a better match for the same purposes.
Other benefits of using a coating such as Fosters 40-20 are easier future cleaning and maintenance for ducts. The water resistant properties of the coating allow for easy treating as appropriate, especially when it is used to coat uneven or porous insulation.
Fosters 40-51 is a water and mould resistant coating. It has applications in industrial, commercial, residential, hospitals and schools. Fosters 40-51 is able to be used in buildings where mould can grow, due to its antimicrobial properties. It is also suited to applications that require a more durable coating, like on brickwork and metal or in HVAC ducts.
For insulating ductwork the correct adhesives are required. Fosters 252 adhesive is ideal for bonding common insulations materials to themselves or surfaces. Common applications include metal, concrete, plywood, timber or plasterboard. The cured product exhibits a strong bond, however it is flexible enough to withstand impact or temperature variations without cracking.
